The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Groundworks Supervisor to lead site-based teams delivering trenching, ducting, cabling, drainage, and reinstatement packages on large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects nationwide.
This is a working supervisor role with direct line management responsibility for groundworks operatives. You’ll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The role involves significant travel, with approximately 70–80% of your time working and lodging away from home during the week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directly manage and supervise groundworks operatives.
- Lead and coordinate daily activities of site teams.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and in line with RAMS, drawings, and specifications.
- Liaise with project managers, site management, and subcontractors.
- Support with setting out, measuring, and reporting on progress.
- Drive productivity while maintaining a positive, values-led team culture.
- Deliver daily briefings, toolbox talks, and maintain Health & Safety compliance.
- Carry out quality checks and sign off completed works.
- Provide hands-on support where needed.
About You
- Proven experience as a Groundworks Supervisor / Foreman with direct line management responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of trenching, ducting, cabling, drainage, and reinstatement.
- Competent in buried service avoidance.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- CSCS Supervisor card (essential).
- SSSTS or SMSTS (essential).
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable (not essential):
- First Aid at Work.
- Plant tickets (telehandler, dumper, excavator).
- Experience on solar farms or other renewable projects.
