Key responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects, ensuring they meet client expectations and organisational goals.
- Develop and implement robust project management processes and tools specific to construction, including scheduling, project progress, resource programming, cost control, and quality assurance measures.
- Prepare detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments, ensuring alignment with construction methodologies and regulations.
- Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, contractor selection, and contract management, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance.
- Establish and refine frameworks to collect, analyse, and report Management Information (MI), ensuring stakeholders have accurate, actionable data.
- Monitor project performance against KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide strategic insights and guidance to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making, continuous improvement and robust scalability.
- Conduct site visits as required to ensure safety, quality, and timeline adherence.
- Manage risks and changes proactively, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure projects remain on track.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence within project teams.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Senior Project Manager in the construction industry.
- Strong track record of planning & delivering projects on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Expertise in developing and implementing MI frameworks and KPIs for performance monitoring and reporting.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction project lifecycles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in project management and reporting tools (e.g. MS Project, Power BI).
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Commercial contract management experience, with the ability to identify and remedy potential over-reach of SLAs and unfavourable contractual obligations.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in construction.
The successful candidate will need to quickly demonstrate their ability to transition with ease between strategic planning and tactical delivery in a fast-past operation with many moving parts.
